Just like Leonardo Da Vinci, the Belgian artist Panamarenko (1940- 2019) imagined all kind of flying machines, with a seriousness of a an inventor of things that are supposed to work. In Panamarenko's case, they never did. Talking about his "Aeromodeller", of which the Museum shows a copy of a drawing from the 1960ies, and which was actually built, he once said: "..it’s a miracle if the object works, but it would be even more perfect if it didn’t. The objective is then completed within the strict confines of the dream."
